The DensDeck Prime Roof Board has a patented design that consists of a water and moisture resistant treated gypsum core laminated on both sides to a mat glass facer. It features a pre-primed surface for a better bond in case of a fully adhered roof cover. The DensDeck Prime Roof Board can be used as cover or underlayment board.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Protects. Conserves. Endures

The DensDeck Prime Roof Board spreads the load and protects the insulation boards underneath. Therefore, it often pays - from a life-cycle cost perspective- to protect the insulation boards with DensDeck Prime cover board.

Added measure of protection
With a compressive strength of more than 3,000 kPa (10 to 15 times that of a standard PIR insulation board), the DensDeck Prime Roof Board adds structural strength to the entire roofing system and helps to absorb the effects of hail, foot traffic and other potentially damaging impacts. Adding a DensDeck Prime Roof Board over mineral wool insulation at least doubles the load capacity.

Outstanding fire performance
The DensDeck Prime Roof Board is an exceptional fire and thermal barrier, due to its non-combustible core and inorganic facer. Fire performance of the DensDeck Prime board has been evaluated using various test standards:
- ASTM E 136: board is classified as non-combustible
- ASTM E 84: flame spread 0 - smoke development 0
- Factory Mutual (FM) and UL approved
- EN 13501-1, Class 1

INSTALLATION

The DensDeck Prime Roof Board shall be neatly fitted to all roof penetrations and projections. No more boards shall be installed than can be covered with membrane and completed before the end of each day's work or before the onset of inclement weather.

The DensDeck Prime Roof Board can be applied over insulation boards, over existing roof surfaces and under adhered or mechanically attached single-ply roofing membranes. It must be installed using approved fasteners and plates or Elevate approved insulation adhesives.

The number of fasteners per board needs to be determined based on a wind uplift calculation in accordance with local building codes and taking into account a minimum requirement of 12 fasteners per board.
