The Valigloo ice rink, about 3 km outside the city of Valenciennes in the north of France, is an iconic venue for ice sports and recreational activities. Inaugurated in 1998, this dolphin-shaped building houses a 700 m² recreational rink and a 1,800 m² competitive rink that host local ice hockey and figure skating clubs.

As part of a recent renovation program, it was decided to replace the complete roofing system. This complex project, covering approximately 8,000 m² of roofing with an unusual shape, required specific expertise to guarantee the safety and waterproofing standards required for sports facilities open to the public.
The chosen solution was our UltraPly TPO thermoplastic waterproofing membrane. This choice was made possible by its lightweight, strong and durable qualities, making it perfectly suited to large surfaces and complex shapes. Installed between July and December 2025 by roofing contractor Nord France Couverture, the UltraPly TPO membrane was mechanically attached, ensuring optimal waterproofing and minimal maintenance.
