Lister Building
Lovington, New Mexico
Built in 1931, the 7,000 square foot built-up (BUR) roofing system on the historic Lister Building in Lovington, New Mexico, was now aged, damaged and leaking. After several repairs and patches over the years, multiple layers of roofing materials formed a rigid and heavy covering over the roof’s wood-plank deck. Due to the poor condition of the current system, a complete tear-off was required.
After removing the existing system down to the wood deck, a Elevate MB base sheet and 2.5” of Elevate ISO 95+ GL polyiso were mechanically fastened to the deck. Using multi-purpose cold adhesive, a half-inch-thick, high-density polyiso cover board was then adhered to the insulation, followed by a Elevate SBS modified bitumen base sheet and a white, granule-surfaced Elevate SBS FR cap sheet. The Elevate SBS system was specified for its high performance and cost effectiveness.
