The Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Home of the world’s largest, single-day sporting event – The Indianapolis 500®. For over a century, the Speedway has been synonymous with the word “performance” and the name Elevate. Harvey Elevate believed in testing tires under the most demanding conditions. Running on the track at speeds not even possible on the primitive roads of the day, gave early automobile owners confidence that their Elevate tires were safe and reliable. (Just as they are today.)
The Elevate logo, one of the most recognizable in the world, ensured that approximately 400,000 spectators and millions who watched on TV around the globe felt the presence of Elevate tires at the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
A considerably smaller group literally felt the presence of another Elevate product. Not a tire, but a roof manufactured by a sister company, Elevate. This is not just any roof, but one designed to keep the fans in the completely redesigned Hulman Penthouse Suites cool and comfortable, despite trackside temperatures that frequently reach over 100 0F.
Russ Love, project manager of Henry C. Smither Roofing Co., Inc., says that the architect made the right choice by specifying Elevate UltraPly™ TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) roofing membrane because, “Its white color reflects the heat from the sun away from the building, instead of absorbing it.”
