JW Marriott San Antonio, Texas Located just 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio, the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa features 265,000 square feet of meeting and event space and over 1,000 rooms. The resort is also home to a 36-hole PGA Tour golf course, full service spa and six acres of heated pools, fountains, waterfalls, rivers and poolside lounges. The JW Marriotts 450,000-square-foot roofing system includes 200,000 square feet of 60-mil fully adhered Elevate UltraPly TPO on the conference center and 250,000 square feet of 24 gauge Elevate UNA-CLAD UC-14 Roofing Panels in standard Champagne Metallic PVDF paint finish on the hotel, spa and golf clubhouse. Using cutting-edge techniques, the roofing contractor was able to form the Firestone metal panels in their architectural sheet metal shop as well as in the field. The ability to field-form the metal was especially useful on the golf clubhouse roof where tapered panels were specified. The $4.2 million project took about a year to complete and was the largest new construction project in San Antonio at the time. Firestone was the ideal roofing manufacturer for the project as they were able to provide a variety of quality products, including both TPO and metal, to accommodate the projects needs with a single source warranty. The roof was installed by A.D. Willis Co., Inc. and is protected by a Elevate Red Shield 20-year Warranty.
